New Year 2006. How abt some new year resolutions... nahh~ I nv will go ahead to fulfill them 'neway...
How abt this for the v 1st entry of the yr. "Forbes says more people are becoming billionaires." WheeS~ Jump for joy and get stuck~!! the world's becoming richer, I'm becoming richer, YOU're becoming richer.
Except NO. I dunn think this' all so good to celebrate for... "more pple are becoming billionaires"... but, you can't jt print more money like *that*, right? Money's, to a rather ineffective extent, meant to measure the amt of work you've contributed to mankind, and thus how much of luxury you can "claim" from society, so it's like this bigg pool of credits which you take from others when you make a service to them, such that you can say "they owe me this much"... and you give back to them when they repay you with services of their own, isn't it?
Only it's made this teenie-weenie lil' bit more complicated by the massive no. of pple involved in this trade: roughly 6,453,628k by e time your new yr countdown reached 0...
So ANYWAY... if there's only so much money in e whole of earth, where's their newfound wealth derived from...? From pple who're NOT becoming billionaires, obviously...
From a perhaps cynical, but more down-to-earth POV, I think another way to translate the headlines wld be tt the richer are becoming richer, once again... and the poorer... bless their souls, are becoming poorer, unsurprisingly. It looks like the widening of the ever infamous income gap again no matter how you look at it, and to think at first view you thought it was a joyous occasion huh.
