In a wave of nostalgia, I've decided to entry smth of my very first RPG. Or at least the one tt hooked me onto the genre, even now, so many yrs after its release.

=) Final Fantasy VIII. With "Eyes On You". With Squall and Rinoa. With Laguna and Ellone. With the legendary band of mercs called SeeDs.

Actually, I was reminded when 93.3fm'd decided to broadcast Faye Wong's "Eyes on Me" as one of the numbers in its "jing dian jing qu jiu lian huan"... it dawned upon me tt, wow... have I aged. My childhood's no longer the "latest" but one of the "classics" alr...

Nevertheless, FF8 was and still is, no matter wad critics say of its MEGA-unique junction system, THE game, maan... I rmb being attracted by the special way the whole plot unravelled, it was more of bedtime novel than hero-in-shiny-armour-saves-the-day-everyday. Squall's no less defiant brat acting dumb than you and I and xl, instead of some chosen holy warrior... Rinoa's not exactly a lovable twit now tt you scrutinise her objectively; she throws her tantrums, has her 16-yr-old dreams, plays pranks on her crush...

And did I say tt from the beginning to the demise of Ultimecia, Laguna, Squall's father, is a two-bit loser with an ego tt can drown fishes?
